About TechStart

TechStart Education Foundation, formerly known as The Software Association of Oregon (SAO) Foundation, strives to awaken a passion for technology among Oregon's K-12 students through programs for both teachers and children. TechStart was created in 2003 by the SAO, a state-wide trade association founded in 1989 to provide programs and services to assist software-dependent organizations start, grow, and move to Oregon. The SAO has long been committed to technology workforce development and formed TechStart as a means for the software industry and others to formally support programs that improve the availability and quality of technology education in Oregon schools.
