TechStart Sponsorship Prospectus

Contribute to TechStart

Why donate to Tech Start Education Foundation?

To be part of inspiring a passion for technology in Oregon students by becoming an individual or corporate sponsor of TechStart.

To help TechStart reach students with programs like the Willamette University High School Programming Contest.

To support strengthening the skills of K-12 teachers in the areas of information technology, computer science and computer engineering.

To play an important role in increasing the technical ability, teamwork, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving skills of our future generation and Oregon’s future workforce.

TechStart has demonstrated an ability to make a significant impact with limited funding. In 2006, with less than $90,000 TechStart was able to:

  • Reach an estimated 7,500 students by training 107 different teachers at SuperQuest, intensive one-day to five-day professional development workshops focused on technology topics
  • Sponsor 46 students from 13 different high schools to participate in the Willamette University/TechStart High School Programming Contest
  • Bring together 40 K-12 and university-level educators for the Oregon Computer Science Teachers Association Spring Conference
  • Hold the First Annual LEGO in Education Conference with more than 75 teachers attending
  • Select and honor the Oregon Technology Educator of the Year with a $1,000 donation to the teacher's classroom

TechStart is well positioned to continue attracting Oregon students’ attentions to technology careers by providing better educational opportunities in related subject areas through programs that directly impact both the students and their teachers.
