SuperQuest

Our flagship program, SuperQuest, is a quality, affordable professional development series for technology teachers and teachers interested in integrating technology into their curriculum.  We offer a diversity of courses at various skill levels in three broad categories:

  • computer science
  • information technology and
  • pre-engineering

SuperQuest-CS4HS 2009
Western Oregon University
August 3-7, 2009
Monmouth, Oregon
Price: $75 - $250 (Commuter and Resident options available)

  • Graduate credits available through Western Oregon University at the low cost of $50 per credit (Washington Clock hours also available through WA ESD).
  • Oregon Professional Development Units (PDUs) available through TechStart at no additional cost.


SuperQuest at WOU has a new look this year! TechStart is pleased to announce the introduction of SuperQuest-CS4HS. This SuperQuest will feature CS4HS (Computer Science for High School teachers) on Monday and Tuesday and will offer the standard workshops; robotics, and game programming Wednesday though Friday.

2009 Plans

  • Expand SuperQuest to at least one geographic region.
  • Increase our outreach to over 200 K-12 teachers.
  • Train a wider audience of K-12 educators, specifically math and science teachers and more elementary school teachers.  

 

2008 Highlights

Some highlights from 2008 include:

  • We hosted three five-day and two one-day workshops at seven locations throughout Oregon—from Hillsboro to Klamath Falls, OR.
  • TechStart offered a total of 15 different course offerings, from beginning web design to advanced robotics.
  • We served 155 K-12 educators and 22 students who participate in Lego Robotics Competitions.
  • We expanded SuperQuest to southern Oregon.
