Science & Technology with Vernier Instruments (Mon-Tues)
    Rick Sorensen, Vernier
Introducing the most powerful and intuitive interface for science education. Engage your students with hands-on science in your classroom or in the field.

    CS Unplugged (Mon-Tues)
    Dr. Tom Cortina, Carnegie-Mellon University
CS Unplugged is a series of modules that introduce students to computer science ideas in fun, hands-on computer-free ways.

Women in Science & Technology (Mon)
    Panel Discussion with:
    Agnes Kwan, Intel
    Lois Delcambre, PSU professor
Alice in the Classroom (Mon & Wed-Fri)
    Don Slater, Carnegie-Mellon University
Alice is an innovative 3D programming environment that makes it easy to create an animation for telling a story, playing an interactive game, or a video to share on the web.

    Other Workshops:

Robotics - Beginning to Advanced (Tues- Fri)
Don Domes, Mark Gullickson, and Greg Smith
Using a self-paced methodology, the SuperQuest LEGO robotics course has been one of our most popular offerings. Everyone from the complete beginner to veterans will get something out of this course and the exchange of ideas.
Participants should bring their own robotics sets and laptop to class. Loaners are available for those who don't have a set or computer available. Laptops must have at least a 1024x768 display and run Windows XP/Vista or Mac OS X. An external mouse is recommended in addition to a touch pad.

    Beginning Game Maker (Wed-Fri)
    Stevie Viaene
Want to jazz your classes and introduce computer science concepts while showing kids how to design and create their own games? The instructor will show you how to get started, how to organize your lesson plans, what resources are out there (for free!!) and about the upcoming Oregon Game Programming Challenge (ogpc). This workshop is for beginners. Previous programming experience is not required.
